FINAL REFLECTIONS

AE 481W & AE 897 G ASSESSMENT

I found the senior thesis project very beneficial to my future career. Although the project was time consuming and stressful (at times), I found the actual structure of the project to be relatively similar to the design process of a team of AEs in an office. Having the freedom to design the lighting of multiple spaces in a building gave me a taste of what my job will be in the coming months. That freedom also made me budget my time accordingly so that I could complete the project in a timely manner. I think that the senior thesis gives students the opportunity to work like they would in their future jobs, and design as if they were the lead designer on a project.

CPEP ASSESSMENT

Creating a CPEP website gave me the opportunity to add a more personal touch to my thesis. I enjoyed having the opportunity to be creative in my website design, making the space useful to myself throughout the year. It was also a very effective way to organize all of my documents and assignments completed over the course of the year. The website provides access to all documents and assignments pertaining to the student thesis, which is a great way for students, professors, and professionals to explore the Penn State AE program. I'm excited that I'll have a way to look back on my senior thesis in its entirety.

ABET ASSESSMENT

As part of the requirements established for ABET accreditation, an assessment of AE 481W & AE 897G courses has been completed. The results of this survey reflect my personal assessment of the course and not the instructors' opinions.

A copy of the survey can be viewed here.
